Obituary of Glen Buckner
BUCKNER- Glen Frederick passed away peacefully at the Shorthills Villa Retirement Community in Fonthill, on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of Mary (née Ehde) for 68 years, loving father of the late John (Leanne), Robert (Cheryl) and William (Jeannie), dear grandfather of Kim (Matt), Ryan, Dean (Shala), Marnie (Billy), Alana (GC), Nate (Alyssa), Jared (Jessie) and Coralie (Ryan), great grandfather of Carter, Chase, Keyah, Hunter, Hudson, Stella, Harper, Evelyn and Emmett, brother of Marjorie Buckner. Glen was predeceased by his parents Fred and Bessie Buckner. He worked at Robin Hood Multi Foods for 35 years, and then worked with his son John with Buckner’s Sporting Goods for several years. He was a member of the Wainfleet Lions Club for 58 years. Glen was a member of Forkes Road East United Church. Special thanks to Dr. G. Rungi for all of his care over the past several years. The Buckner family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service in the Davidson Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.
