Richard Larry Masikewich
Richard Masikewich, born August 15, 1941, at the age of 77 years, passed away on September 3, 2018, in Edmonton.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sylvia; sons, Brian (Shantal) and Terry (Krisy); grandchildren, Summer, Brynn, Alexander and Grace; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father, George; mother, Mary (nee Wolansky); sister, Katherine; and brother, Nicholas
Richard had a varied career including time at CNR, Jasper Auto Parts, Medicine Lodge Penitentiary, YDC and Westfield. He retired in 2000.
His hobbies included repairing and painting cars and hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed coaching softball, running his midget girls softball tournament, bowling and volunteering for any job that included carpentry or mechanical work. He was president of Dovercourt community association. He volunteered at the world track and field championships in Edmonton and also the 55 plus Alberta games.
Funeral service Tuesday, Sept 11, at 10:00am at Park Memorial Chapel. 9709 -111 Avenue, Edmonton. Interment in St. Pokrova Cemetery, Edwand, AB. In lieu of flowers donations to GIST Sarcoma Liferaft Group Canada P.O. Box 32 Stn Main, Cobourg, ON, K9A 4K2 or liferaftgroup.ca/donate
