Obituary Overview
Penny Jane Cromb
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Penny Jane Cromb (nee Dolmage) on August 28th, 2018 at the age of 71.
Penny will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Keri (Masahiko); step-sons Ryan (Heather) and Randal (Diana); brother, Peter (Chris); sister, Judy (Colin), grandchildren, Kate, Sarah, Elina, Leon and Violeta; partner, Allan Tomas; sister-in-law, Freda; cousins Shirley and Laurie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Orville and Doris Dolmage, and her former husband and dear friend, Allen.
Penny enjoyed travelling, cooking, baking, crocheting, and getting lost in a good book. She loved hosting holiday dinners for family and friends and took great pride in her special recipes. Penny was happiest when she was spending time with her loved ones, whether it was travelling to visit her daughter and her family in Japan, enjoying a cup of tea with friends, or celebrating special occasions. Most of all, Penny loved to laugh and she will be remembered for her sense of humour, her kindness, and her warm and generous personality.
Penny was born in Saskatoon, and at a young age, moved with her family to Edmonton. She worked for the City of Edmonton and Compage Communications Group for many years and will be dearly missed by the friends and co-workers she met along the way. She spent several years living in the Bahamas with her husband Allen and step-sons, then returned with the family to the Holyrood home in Edmonton where she had grown up. After living in West Edmonton for 20 years, her final months were spent once again in her old neighborhood at Holyrood Extendicare.
At Penny’s request, there will be no funeral service and her ashes will be laid to rest at the Edmonton Cemetery next to her dear friend, Allen Cromb.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Extendicare Holyrood and the Hardisty Care Centre for their care and compassion during Penny’s last year and a half. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Hearing Society.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Penny Jane Cromb 2018..
