Edward “Eddy” Richard
1929-2018
In the presence of his family,
Edward Richard, age 89, of Sackville,
passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday,
September 4, 2018. Born in Shemogue, NB, Eddy was a son of
the late Alexander (Alec) and Mary-Jane Richard.
Eddy was a gentle, kind man who was well
loved. Anyone who knew Eddy realized that he was very
patient, caring and giving, always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was a talented musician who sang and played the guitar,
with a love for old time country music. Eddy had worked as a
welder for Enterprise Foundry for many years up until his
retirement.
Eddy was a member of St. Vincent’s Roman
Catholic Church, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26,
Sackville.
He will be dearly missed by his son,
Robert “Bob” (Edna) Richard, Sackville; his grandchildren,
Roger, Denise, Jennifer, Nicole, and Yvette; several great
grandchildren; a brother, Camille, Ottawa, Walter, Oshawa, Emerise
(Vincent) Wood, Sackville, Levina Lucas, Oshawa, Roger (Marilyn),
Oshawa, and a sister Doris Langendyk, Kitchener; a dear friend, Marion
Patterson, as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by his son, Roger Richard; a grandson, Matthew Richard; and a sister,
Clara Sterling.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of visitation will
be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
A funeral service will be held at St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church,
Sackville, on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30 am.
Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Eddy may be made
to the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
