Obituary of Nestor Axani
AXANI, Nestor
August 27, 1939 – August 15, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, neighbour and friend, Nestor Axani at the age of 78 years.
He will be missed by his sister Anne; brother Art and sister Eleanor (George); sisters-in-law Irene, Shirley, Doreen and Hazel; along with numerous relatives and friends. Nestor was predeceased by his parents Floria and Domnica; siblings Mike, Bill, Sarah, John, Ted, Metro, Steve, Con and George.
Nestor was born August 27, 1939 in the Boian area. He grew up on the farm and attended school at Boian and Willingdon. After leaving school he worked at various logging camps and at Steve’s Woodworking Shop before coming back and settling on the farm. He loved working in the garden and picking mushrooms. He enjoyed mini mechanics and was very talented at it. Nestor was also very musically inclined and played the organ, accordian, violin and drums.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church, Boian, Alberta with Very Reverend M. Paciuk officiating. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the “St. Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church of Boian” or to the charity of one’s choice.
