1942-2018
George, Coleman Edward – Canso,
Guysborough CoIt is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the
passing of our beloved brother, uncle and father Coleman Edward
George, Age 76 years. Born August 9, 1942 in Canso, he was a son of
the late Roland and Bessie (Ryter) George. Coleman passed on August
18, 2018 in Eastern Memorial Hospital with family by his
side.
Coleman was a fisherman all his life, retiring in 2012, he
enjoyed duck hunting, playing guitar and a good game of cards. He is
survived by a son, Coleman Jr. and his mother, Dena; sisters, Tilly
Ouellette, Valley View Villa; Elsie David, Canso; brother, Fred (New
Glasgow); brother-in-law, Glenn Landry, New Glasgow; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Coleman was predeceased by a son, Scottie (age six); sisters,
Emma Feltmate, Jessie Dort, Rose Mason, and Mary Landry; brothers,
Clarence and Lawrence. He is also predeceased, by brothers-in-law,
Alonzo Feltmate, Bill Ouellette, Bill Dort, Vivian Mason, Wilfred
David and sister-in-law, Faye George.
Visitation will be Friday, August 24, 2018 in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. with funeral
service to follow at 1 p.m. in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso
Burial to follow in All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery. Family
flowers only please, donations can be made in memory of Coleman to All
Saints Anglican Church, Canso.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of
Eastern Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown
to Coleman over the past few weeks. We would also like to thank
Reverend Susan Slater, Sheila Lawrence and Elaine Bushel for the
