TANNER,
John Albert
We, the family of John Albert Tanner, age 67, announce his
passing on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Cape Breton Regional
Hospital, Sydney.
Born on November 7, 1950, in North Sydney, where he was
raised, John was the son of the late Ellsworth and Irene (Tobin)
Tanner.
John was a very talented guitarist, who played in a band. He
led a very simple, basic life, but was also known as a very kind and
generous person to those who knew him.
John is survived by his brothers, Gregory, North Sydney and
Raymond, Ontario; sister, Barbara, Ontario; son, Clayton Fiander (Erin
Evans), Sydney; granddaughter, Sara Fiander, Sydney, as well as his
special furry pet, his cat, Tom Tom.
Special thanks to all those involved in the Community
Services Program, especially Joanne Turner, as well as all the many
people in the community who helped John in any way, with special
thanks to Bruce Evans.
A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s
Parish Cemetery, Little Bras d’Or on Thursday, August 9 at 4
p.m., Mr. Ken MacKenzie officiating.
