Obituary for
Guy Marin
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Guy Jarvis Marin, after a long battle with scleroderma, on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the age of 58 years. He lived his final days at the Red Deer Hospice, after a difficult five month stay at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Guy was born in The Pas, Manitoba on March 13, 1960, and moved with his family to Red Deer, Alberta in 1977. He had many passions; foremost being a love of both music and movies. Guy was a foodie, and enjoyed trying new and diverse foods, as well as cooking. He was very active, walking everywhere and doing lawn care and snow removal for both family and friends. In his later years, he also enjoyed gardening and travelling. Anyone who knew him, knew Guy was a dedicated Edmonton Oilers and wrestling fan. Guy had a heart of gold and easily made friends with local business clerks. Guy will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Leona Marin, and sisters, Marlee (Kevin) Maguire and Michelle (Brent) Warner. He will also be sadly missed by his niece, Marin (Dallon) Todd; as well as many dear friends. Guy was predeceased by his father, Marcel Marin. Our heartfelt thanks to all of the friends, family and caregivers, for their incredible support. Currently, no Memorial Service is planned. If desired, Memorial Donations in Guy’s honour may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040 or 1.800.481.7421.
