Obituary of Ruby Garand (Morash)
Garand (Morash), Ruby Mae: 70, White’s Lake, NS, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, surrounded by her family. Born in West Dover, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy Morash. Ruby spent the vast majority of her life in West Dover and Whites Lake, where she and her husband, René (Ray), lived and raised a large family. She was dedicated to her family all her life, as she was unconditionally there for them with open arms, an open heart, and words of wisdom. She was always more than willing to help anyone in a time of need and will be remembered for welcoming everyone into her home. She will fondly be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and for being understanding, supportive, as well as loyal to all who knew and loved her. She is survived by husband of 50 years, René (Ray), her treasured and faithful children, Johnny, Bradley (Patricia), Angela Evans (Peter), Robert (Lisa), and David (Erin). Affectionately known as “Nanny”, she will be missed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be forever remembered by numerous siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and beloved brothers and sisters.
By request, cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where a celebration of Ruby’s life will be held in the chapel on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11 AM.
