James Douglas Rogerson, was born in Toronto on August 10, 1948, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 6, 2018. Jim, as he was known to most, is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Heather, his sons Christopher (John), Michael (Lisa) and his three granddaughters Mackenzie, Lauren, and Sydney, his sister Barbara and brother Rick, and his numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim studied chemical engineering at Queens University, where he met his wife. He worked many years in distilleries across Canada and retired from Alberta Distillers Limited in 2007. He was the award winning master distiller of Tangle Ridge Canadian Whisky.
Jim was an avid sports fan with a particular love for playing golf. He will be known for being a larger than life presence, especially for his 3 granddaughters who always held a special place in his heart.
The family wishes to thank the amazing staff of the Bethany Care Centre, MDE floor, for their constant caring, loving, and support that they showed Jim each and every day. At the family’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Bethany Care Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta.
