Obituary of Jerzy Lipiec
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and Papa, Jerry Lipiec on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. In his 82nd year, Jerry passed away after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Loving father of Lester and his wife Denise. Dad will be deeply missed by his farming partner and son, Chris and his wife Anja who all resided on the farm together. Proud and loving Papa of Gerrit. Predeceased by his wife Lena (2005). Jerry will be missed by his family in Canada as well as in Poland. Jerry spent the last 49 years farming in Grassie with his wife and later with his son Chris. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday, July 5 from 6-8 p.m. with Prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby, on Friday, July 6 at 11 a.m. Interment at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the Parkinson’s Foundation would be appreciated by the family and if desired can be made through the funeral home.
