Obituary for
Scott Champagne
The family announces, with deep sadness, the sudden passing of Scott Champagne on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the age of 41 years. Scott was a truly wonderful man with unquestionable dedication to his wife, Natalie, and his children, Hayden, 11, and Celia, 7. He is survived by his parents, Brenda and Donald of Sudbury, and brothers Murphy (Jenny) of Sudbury, and Chris (Jason) of Montreal. Scott leaves behind a loving extended family and a large family of in-laws who thought the world of him.
Scott was a lifelong resident of Sudbury. He grew up in New Sudbury, but spent summers in New Liskeard with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He attended Lasalle Secondary School, Cambrian College, where he studied Fitness and Leisure Management, and Laurentian University, where he studied Human Kinetics. For the past 17 years, Scott was a Special Constable, Courts Branch, with the Greater Sudbury Police Service. He was a longtime participant in Scouts Canada, won the Chief Scout Award as a youth, and remained a vital member of 1st Copper Cliff Group. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed coaching his children and instilling in others a love of fun, adventure and the outdoors.
Special thanks to the Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Sudbury Police Association for their support.
Visitation at Lougheed’s Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury, Friday, June 29th, 2018 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral mass, Saturday, June 30th, 2018 at 10 am at Church of Christ the King, 30 Beech Street, Sudbury.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Hayden and Celia Champagne Fund through Lougheed’s.
