Obituary Overview
Joyce Gordon
Joyce passed away June 25, 2018 at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 88 years. She is the loving mother to Sandra (Bill) Stirling of Yellowknife, Lloyd (Orena) Gordon of Candle Lake, Trevor (Shannon) Gordon of Saskatoon and Scott (Donna) Gordon of Saskatoon. Joyce will also be lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren, Clayton (Rena), Meagan (Brendan), Krista (Brendan), Kim, Jason, Donald, Aislinn (Jordan), Liam and Hailey; 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Stirling and Kaysen; sister, Faye (Don); nieces and nephews, Terri (Wes), Del (Sandra) and Dean (Jean); and her sister-in-law, Florence Jeffries. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Tom; brother, Charles Jeffries; and her parents, Reg and Dorothy Jeffries.
Mom grew up in Saskatoon and attended Nutana Collegiate where she met her future husband, Tom. They married in 1951 and together raised 4 children. Mom and Dad farmed at Harris from their home in Saskatoon until 1979, at which time they moved to the farm and lived there until 1998, when they retired and moved back to Saskatoon.
They also built a cabin at Candle Lake, where Joyce enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and meeting many new friends. Mom and Dad spent many winters travelling to Arizona, but could never stay away for long as Mom would miss her grandchildren, family and friends. Mom loved to garden, play bridge and spend time with family and friends. She always said you can’t have too many friends. The family wish to extend their thanks to the caring staff of St. Paul’s Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at McClure United Church, 4025 Taylor St. E, Saskatoon.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joyce Gordon 2018.source
