OBITUARY
Elaine Therese Kane, September 25, 1930 – June 18, 2018
It is with great sadness that the Family of Elaine (“Lanie”) Therese Kane (née MacPhee) announces her passing comfortably at Arborstone Enhanced Care on June 18, 2018. Elaine was born in, Launching Place, Prince Edward Island, on September 25, 1930 to Sarah (née Gardiner) and Hugh McPhee. She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Gregg) Morris, Stephen
(Raphaela) DeLory, Michele (John Kirby) DeLory, Brenda (Brian) MacDonald,
Colleen (Maurice Amendolagine) DeLory and Rebecca Melendez; stepchildren, Deborah (Calvin) Kerr, Joanne Lanigan, Dianne (Alan) Burgess, Paul (Cheryl) Kane and Julie (Cory) White; grandchildren, Gregory, Benjamin, Simon, Dillon, Tim, Ryan, Zach and Cian; siblings, Mae McCormack, (twin) Beatrice (MacPhee) Gallant. Predeceased by Her first husband, Stephen (Ben) DeLory; second husband, Ralph (Bud) Kane; siblings, Paul MacPhee, Alfred MacPhee, (twin) Allie MacPhee and Joseph MacPhee. In her working years, Elaine worked in nursing care at the Mount Saint Vincent Care Home with retired nuns until her own retirement. She was a fun, funny and talented woman who was always up for an adventure. During retirement she enjoyed traveling to see her children and grandchildren, baking and canning for her friends and family, golfing, gardening, crafts, and swimming in Pentz Lake on a warm summer day. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Uniacke. She will be missed. Funeral Mass to be held Monday June 25th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 572 Hwy #1, Mt. Uniacke, NS, reception to follow at the church. Interment to take place at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church, St. Georges, Prince Edward Island, June 28 2:00 pm – all are welcome. We would like to sincerely thank the nurses, doctors and other care providers at Arborstone Enhanced Care for providing our motherwith a high level of professional care as well as kindness and love during her final years. The family greatly appreciates it. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
