Giacomo (Jack) Aramini, beloved husband, father and Nonno, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at the Evergreen Baptist Care Home in White Rock. Jack was 81 years old.
Jack was born in 1937 in Milan, Italy. Jack was raised in Northern Italy and trained as a carpenter, before trekking across the Atlantic at the age of 19 to seek a new life in Canada. Jack first settled in Fort William, Ontario, now Thunder Bay. In 1964 Jack married a lovely young teacher, Renata, and the couple eventually settled in a house on Garden Ave.; one of three houses Jack designed and built for his family over his lifetime. In 1975 the family had grown to five and moved across the country to beautiful British Columbia, settling in Langley on 204 St. Over the years, Jack worked hard at his trade to support his growing family and beautiful home. In addition to his mastery of carpentry and pride in his work, Jack had many talents and interests. From wine and sausage making, to gardening, to hunting and fishing he excelled. Jack was also a proud founding member of the Fraser Valley Italo-Canadian club.
Above all, Jack was a devoted spouse, father, Nonno, and friend. He spoke proudly of his children and grandchildren and relished dinners and famous parties with his many friends.
Jack is survived by his three children, James, Jeffery and Angela, and their spouses, Angie, and Oscar, and ten grandchildren, Michela, Elena, Juliana, Cristina, Oliver, Bianca, Sofia, Luca, Leo, and Lucia. Jack was predeceased by his spouse Renata and his mother Maria.
Prayers will be held on Friday June 22 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Langley, followed by funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday June 23. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
