Lincoln James Penner was born in Winnipeg September 30, 1954. At a very young age he came to bless the home of William and Adina Penner. He passed away May 30, 2018 in Vancouver after a time of multiple health issues which led to cardiac arrest. He reached the age of 63 years. Lincoln grew up on a farm at Ste. Anne, MB. He received his education at the Greenland North School and the Landmark Collegiate. As a teenager he gave his heart to God and was baptized November 29, 1970 into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. In May of 1982 he married Lynne Cawker McPhee. The birth of their daughter Debbie brought him much joy. In September of 2012 he married Lois Eagin. Lincoln had an outgoing personality and knew no strangers. He was sharp witted and often used humour and laughter in his conversations. He possessed a certain resilience which helped him through disappointments. Family was very important to him, though he lived in difference place Vancouver was home to him for many years. His occupations were various but mainly he worked in security. He also spent a few years in the hospitality business. In 2013 he successfully completed an Automotive Service Technician course. Due to his declining health he retired in 2017. He loved to help unfortunate people and until very recently was actively involved in volunteering at the food bank and various outreach programs. He will be deply missed by that community as well as by his family. Left to remember him are his daughter Debbie; 4 brothers; Virden, Anglemont, BC; Sylven and Andrea, Norquay, Sk; Stan and Tamera, Brandon, MB; Gilbert, Thunder Bay, On; 2 sisters Mavis and Ken Wohlgemuth, Endeavour, Sk; Nina and Robert Dueck, Brandon, MB; 8 nephews; 6 nieces; 1 great niece; 2 great nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents. There will be amemorial service Wednesday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at Peace Mennonite Church, 11571 Daniels Road, Richmond.
