BOND, Margaret Rosetta
– Age 75 of Durells Island, Guysborough Co. On Sunday, June
10, 2018, Margaret Rosetta Bond peacefully was reunited with her loved
ones who she so dearly missed. Born and raised on the shores of Canso,
Margaret grew with devotion and faith alongside friends and family.
She bloomed in the tranquil surrounding waters of Durells Island. She
knew the effortless enjoyment of books, music and engaging in nature.
Those who knew her knew she was a hard worker and a selfless being.
Her spirit and compassion live on through those survived by her.
Margaret worked at the fish plant as a packer for many years and was a
member of Star of the Sea Parish, Canso.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth;
grandchildren, Brandon and Hailey; sisters, Amanda Bond, Sondra
(Lester) Ferguson; brother, Ernie (Marlene) Bond; aunts, Vadie
Thornhill, Alice Cashin, Theresa Boutilier; uncle, Wilfred Snow;
nieces Andrea, Vadie, Glendora, Rosetta, Erin, Christina and
nephew Derek. She was predeceased by her parents, Wallace Alonzo and
Margaret Julia (Snow) Bond; sisters, Vadie Bond, Genera Burridge;
brothers, Wallace James and Jerome.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in
Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will follow at 2
p.m. from Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father
Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to PEI Cancer Treatment
Centre, Charlottetown, PEI. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the
