Karen Ann Harrington, of Hanover, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with her family at her side at Hanover and District Hospital on Tuesday, June 05, 2018. She was 52.
Born in Kitchener on March 1, 1966 to Glenn and Eileen (nee Vollmer) Skinn. Karen had a love for life even through all her recent health troubles. She was a beloved teacher for the Grey Bruce Catholic District School Board for over 27 years, combining her love to teach at both Holy Family Catholic School and Mary Immaculate School in Chepstow. She left a lasting impression on many of her colleagues, staff and students.
Survived by devoted and caring husband Tom Harrington of Hanover. Dear mother of Alanna (Ryan) Medland, Kayla Harrington and Emma Harrington both of Hanover, and grandmother to Theodore. Adored daughter of Glenn and Eileen Skinn of Hanover. Also survived by sisters Michele (Raymond) Doerr of Kansas, Angela (Nick) Antoniades of Kitchener and Teressa (John) Spoenlein of Bentinck Township. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Family Church. Father Gary Schlack officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
In lieu of memorial donations, flowers are appreciated as a tribute to Karen as expressions of sympathy.
