Suddenly on Monday, May 28th, 2018 Christine Lynnette Barker “Ozaawo-bineshii” journeyed to the spirit world to join her maternal grandparents, Lyle and Josephine Barker and her paternal grandfather, Louie Simard Sr. and his sons Hughie Simard and Louie Simard Junior.
Chrissy will be forever loved and missed by her mother, Wanda Barker, and her siblings Jonathon, Candida, Jeremy, Angel, Tanner, Hank, and her precious children, Hailey, Kammi, Lyle, Aiden and Creedence. She will also be greatly missed by her father, Bradley Simard.
Chrissy was a multi-gifted woman who lived her life simply but always with passion. She was a poet, a singer, an artist, a writer, a dancer and a natural born leader. She had worked on many projects to bring awareness of social injustices and helping others such as initiating the Hoop Jumpers (name she had come up with) drive in feeding the homeless. She was also most honored to work with the school Elders in Hollow Water in publishing a book called Gookom’s Stories. A beautiful person with a caring and compassionate spirit who will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
Service will be held on Thursday May 31st, 2018 from 7 p.m. – till Midnight at Eternal Grace Funerals at 1111 Logan Ave.at McPhillips.
