Obituary Overview
Philip J. Pothier
1959 ~ 2018
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Philip Joseph Pothier, 59, of Falmouth, Hants County, who passed away at home on Sunday, May 20, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born on April 11, 1959 in Windsor, Hants County; he was the son of Tom and Jackie Pothier.
He was the most awesome son, brother, uncle, in-law, and most importantly father and husband. He and Charmaine “the love of his life” completed their family when they welcomed Maia and Fallon. Two daughters were never more loved and adored. He was a spiritual man and had a strong sense of faith. Charmaine and “his girls”, along with the Pothier and Donovan families were his world. He loved his trips to Newfoundland where he always knew he was more than a brother-in-law but a true member of the family. The Pothiers could never truly express the total love they have for Charmaine….truly a match made in heaven.
Philip was a great tease and enjoyed many a good prank…at someone else’s expense of course. He spent many hours at the rink watching Maia and Fallon figure skating. He was so proud of their each and every accomplishment and of the young ladies they have become. Some of his favorite adventures were camping and making great memories with his China Families.
Philip was a member of the family business “Pothier Motors” most of his adult life. His co-workers were like a big family and many of his customers also became good friends. He was honest, hardworking, fair and a true gentleman.
Surviving are his wife, the former Charmaine Donovan; daughters, Maia and Fallon Pothier at home; parents, Tom and Jackie Pothier, Falmouth; brothers, John (Carole) Pothier, Bedford; Jamie (Ceri) Pothier, Falmouth; sister, Patty (Philip) Burgess, Falmouth; his Newfoundland extended family; brothers-in-law, Michael (Rosemary) Donovan, Brendan (Marina) Donovan, Jim (Sharon) Donovan, Andrew (Eunice) Donovan, John (Sheila) Donovan, Gerard (Chrissie) Donovan, Brian (Pauline) Donovan; sisters-in-law, Kay (Dan) Broderick and Rosella (Winston) Hiscock, all of Newfoundland; numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Angela Donovan; sister-in-law, Helen Donovan.
