Victoria “Vikki Hlohovsky 1933 – 2017

Vikki passed peacefully, at home in Victoria, BC, on 12 November 2017. She was born on Victoria Day 1933, on a farm near Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. Her first school was one room with one teacher near the farm. After graduating from Maple Creek Composite High School, Saskatchewan, she enrolled in the Royal Canadian Air Force for five years. Her postings were Ontario, Quebec and Metz, France. She was then employed, for 30 years, at Alberta Government Telephone. She sold Real Estate in Calgary, for a few years, before retiring to Duncan BC and later moved to Victoria.
Vikki enjoyed living on Vancouver Island. Her favourite activities were painting, playing bridge, travel and singing with the Cathedral Choir.
She leaves behind Frank (Joan), Bertha (Ralph Jones), Joe (Deanie) and Irene (Ralph Besplug). Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Vikki is predeceased by brother Tony and his wife Connie and sister Anne and her husband Jack Sandeman.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Vikki at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, corner of Blanshard and View Streets, on Thursday, 24 May 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow immediately at St. Andrew’s Columbarium. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
