Jantje (Janet) Hovius (nee Arends)
Surrounded by the love of her family, while at her residence at Shalom Manor in Grimsby, Janet was received into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday April 10, 2018 in her 92nd year. Loving wife of 53 years to Bouke Hovius (deceased 2002). Dear mother of Marten (deceased 1976), Sylvia (George) Prins, Garry (Rita) Hovius, Marike (Wayne) MacDonald and Boyd (Stephanie) of Kitchener. Dear grandmother to Danielle, Gideon, Heidi & Maria; Wendy, Becky, Richard, Garry Jr., Jacob, Sarah and Melissa; David, Bob, and Shannon; Jacqueline and Luke. Beloved great grandmother of 41 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Jake Arends (deceased), Ralph Arends (deceased) and Frances VanderVeen (deceased). Janet was an excellent homemaker and support for her family and husband on a farm in Listowel, Ontario.
The family will receive condolences from family and friends on Thursday April 12, 2018 at the Providence Christian Reformed Church from 7 – 8:30pm. A private interment will take place at Mount Osborne Cemetery, Beamsville. The memorial service will be held at the Providence Christian Reformed Church at 2pm on Friday April 13, 2018. If desired, donations may be made to Shalom Manor in lieu of flowers.
