Harold Mansford Lindbergh 1944 – 2018

Harold Mansford Lindbergh, age 73, of Kamloops BC, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 9, 2018 at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House in Kamloops. He had bravely battled lung complications. Born in Kamloops on April 9, 1944, Harold is survived by Roy Lindbergh (Son) Mary Lindbergh (Daughter in law) of Logan Lake BC; Tawnia Cave (Daughter) Corey Gordon of Merritt BC; Mary Lindbergh (Daughter) of Kamloops BC; Lily Carriere (Daughter) of Victoria, BC; 19 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Harold was predeceased by his parents, Annie Jean Shannon & Harry Lindbergh
Harold grew up in Knutsford, where he worked as a mechanic at a local shop. Harold spent time as a ski instructor at the local ski hill, “Grandview Ski Hill.” Lived many years downtown Kamloops before moving to Alexis Creek where he ran and operated his own business, Harold’s Equipment Repair. He moved to Logan Lake in 2013 when his health started to take a turn, and he stayed with his son and daughter in-law until finding a place in Kamloops in 2013.
After his move to Kamloops Harold became an active Volunteer and Member of the Brock Activity Centre. He enjoyed Bingo calling at the centre and doing anything he could to help. He helped with Greenfield apartments, where he lived and became President of their committee. Harold helped with a movie library and he helped with menus and dinner plans.
Harold loved taking his scooter to MacPark to enjoy nature and feed the birds, he enjoyed his daily morning coffee at the Tim Hortons near the Brock Activity Centre. Harold had a heart of gold, and he enjoyed time with family and friends. He was loyal to those close to him, and he enjoyed many life long friendships.
At his request, there will be no funeral service but rather a time to reflect on Dads life. The date chosen is Dad’s birthday to celebrate the time we had with him, Brock Activity Centre, Kamloops BC Monday, April 9, 2018, 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations to Kamloops Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice would be appreciated. A special thank you to Glen at Greenfield Apartments for watching out for Dad and being a good friend. Thanks also to the Hospice staff for helping make such a wonderful person’s last days as comfortable as they could be. He left a strong imprint on the hearts of many and will always be remembered.
“Compassionate, Heart of Gold, Friend, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa”
