Benjamin Waldron
Benjamin beloved father of Donna Louise of Ponoka, AB, Ronald Murray (Val) of Saskatoon, and Bruce Benjamin (Emily) of High River, AB passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Care Home on Tuesday, April 3rd at the age of 94 years. He is dearly missed by his 8 grandchildren and their families, Kari (Scott) Boyes of Whitecourt, AB, Keith Willer (Vanessa) of Westlock AB, Michelle (Don) Goring of Ft. Saskatchewan AB, Wade (Clarissa) Waldron of Saskatoon, Heather (Sean) Bonynge of Saskatoon, Michael (Tami) Waldron of Saskatoon, Tyler Waldron of Saskatoon, and Steven Waldron of High River, AB, as well as 12 great-grandchildren. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters: Doreen Waldron (Bill Hatch) and Winnie (Bill) Cools.
Ben was predeceased by his wife, Doris May (Wailing); parents: Robert Waldron & Alice Jayes, brothers: Leslie, Herbert, Frank, Robert Jr. and by his sisters, Marjorie, and Betty (Hervey).
Ben was born in Loverna, SK. He worked as a projectionist in theatres for many years as well as a stage-hand with I.A.T.S.E. He was a 50-year member of Toastmasters in Saskatoon, a long-time member of Emmanuel Anglican Church, and an active supporter of the New Democratic Party. His favourite pastimes were: gardening, biking, cross-country skiing, dancing and teaching people to speak with confidence. Ben loved being with people, serving people and getting to know people.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel Anglican Church, 609 Dufferin Avenue, Saskatoon.
Memorial donations in Ben’s honour may be made directly to Emmanuel Anglican Church, 609 Dufferin Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7N 1C4.
