MacDonald passed away peacefully at her home in her 80th year. Loving wife of
Glenn MacDonald for 59 years. Cherished mother of Todd and Kristin Bona.
Grandmother of Joshua Plank, Danielle Bona, Dylan Bona-Wescome, Trevor, Nicole,
Alexander MacDonald. Great-grandmother to Ciara Plank and Faye Bona. Survived
by her dear brother Brian Buxton and many nieces, nephews and many more
extended family and friends. Denise was born on July 18, 1938 in Detroit
Michigan. She first moved to Canada by way of Calgary in 1959 and then on to
Quebec in 1961 before settling to raise her family in London, Ontario in 1966.
Denise spent many years as an Akela for the 97th Cub Pack and greatly enjoyed
the time spend outdoors with her Pack. She then started her floral designing
career, first with the Flower Gallery, Regency Flowers then onto Flowers by
Martha. Denise went back to school in her 50’s to complete her E.A. and worked
for The London Board of Education. At the same time she founded her love for
art and went on to teach technique in her home as a member of the ‘Brush &
Palate” group here in London. A time of visiting and reflection will be held on
Thursday April 5th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 1559
Fanshawe Park Road East, 519-452-3770, where a Funeral Service will be held the
following day, Friday April 6th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has
requested memorial donation to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. On-line
