Marcel Rosario Bonneau September 4 1936 March 24 2018

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Marcel, at the Victoria General Hospital. Marcel was born in Prescott, Ontario to Thomas and Cecelia Bonneau (nee Boyer) He was the second youngest of 11 brothers and sisters who have all predeceased him. He is survived by his loving daughters Nancy (Dany) Nedokus and Rosemary McLean, his dearly loved grandchildren Kevin (Erin) Mclean, Gordon McLean and Julie Mclean (Eric Gallant) and the latest loves of his life, great-grandchildren Porter McLean and Lila Gallant. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews all across Canada. Marcel was a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy with 25 years service. In 1971 his last posting brought the family from Halifax to Vancouver Island which he wisely decided to make his permanent home. After retiring from the Navy, Marcel spent several years with the Corps of Commissionaires as security at the Victoria Airport. He was a huge presence in his grandchildren’s’ lives, never missing a hockey or baseball game or any opportunity to spend time with them. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care Marcel received from the nurses, healthcare, dietary and housekeeping staff at Broadmead Lodge. A special “thank you” to the Arts Department where he spent many happy hours. Let us not forget his 3 beautiful ladies (Johanna, Joyce, and Jean) who visited him on a regular basis for vicious games of scrabble and good laughs. No service by request.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
