Surrounded by his loving family, Jim passed away peacefully after a short illness.
Beloved husband of Dorinda “Dorie” (Scott) Hunter. Loving father of Shannon (Glen Tuznik) and Jessica (Matt Walchuk). Cherished Poppa of Liam, Owen and Evan Tuznik and Sasha, Caitlin, Elizabeth, and William Walchuk.
Predeceased by his father Isaac Bradley of Prescott. Survived by his mother Nancy Hunter of Toronto.
Jim moved to Sudbury in the late 60s to attend Laurentian University and graduated in Business Administration and Economics. He worked in the insolvency field in both the public and private sectors. After becoming a licensed bankruptcy trustee, he opened James Hunter and Associates Inc. with offices in Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie, and Toronto. As a skilled professional, he helped many people with their financial well-being. Jim had a passion for numbers and finance. He enjoyed playing slo-pitch for many years. Jim was a dedicated donor of both blood and platelets most of his adult life.
A real family man, Jim took great pleasure in playing a big role in the lives of his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his storytelling and his great sense of humour.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Gopolokrishnan, Silvija, and Sarah for their care and kindness.
At Jim’s request, there will be no public visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation (Cancer Centre) or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
