It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude McCarthy announce her passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center in Stephenville Crossing on March 18th 2018 at the age of 74 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Kevin (Trinity) in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Lorna (Perry) in Stephenville, Christina (Patrick) in Bon Accord Alberta. Also leaving to mourn her grandchildren James, Daniel, Kavanaugh, Tristan, Katrina, Cameron, Samantha, great grandchildren Damien, Carlee, Keristen , Dawson, Scarlett, Grayson, Kaden, Randy, Connor , her brothers Donald (Judy) in Stephenville Crossing, Wayne in Stephenville, her sisters Elizabeth (Donald) in USA, Marlene (Joey) in Stephenville Crossing, Darlene( Arthur) in Barachois Brook and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Alexander Lucas, her husband Leonard(Buggie)McCarthy , her grandchildren Sharlene Abbott and Meaghan Collier , her brothers Michael , Gregory and sister Bridget. Visitation will take place at Russell’s Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing on Wednesday March 21st from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Assumption Parish on Friday March 23rd at 2 p.m. with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Brook Street. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Assumption Parish Ladies Guild or to a charity of one’s choice.
