VACON, Raymond John – age 99, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Villa. Born December 22, 1918 in Quinan, he was a son of the late Victor and Josephine (Doucette) Vacon. Raymond worked as a lumberjack and a fisherman. He was a veteran of the second World War, having served with the Royal Canadian Army. He is survived by daughters, Cynthia Schleit, Florida; Maria (Eric) Darbyshire, Yarmouth and Danica Vacon, Yarmouth, as well as by grandchildren, Melissa Schleit, Joshua Schleit, Shaynon (Tina) Wallace, Brandon (Con) Snooks and a great grandson, Emerson Schleit. Aside from his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his loving wife, Lucie E. (Surette) Vacon; a son, Alec; a daughter, Michelle, as well as by brothers, Fred, Jerome, Arthur, Joseph, Louis, Lawrence, James and Theodore Vacon and sisters, Louise, Mary Helen, Vitaline and Frances. A visitation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday with prayers at 8 p.m. Please note that there will be no funeral service and interment will take place in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation (Renal Dialysis Unit). On-line condolences may be sent to www.huskilson.net
