Albert Preikschas ~ At Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, Mr. Albertus Jacob Preikschas of Palmerston, in his 88th year.
Husband of Joyce (Ditner) Preikschas.
Father of Charlene and Norm Kerr of Waterloo, Dennis and Kim Preikschas of R.R.3, Listowel, and Paul and Geri Preikschas of Mississauga.
Grandfather of Angela Chapman, Jill Straus-Stitt, Lisa Yeo, James Straus, Heather Mitchel and A.J. Preikschas, and Jeson Berina, and great-grandfather of Zackery, Mikayla, Riley, Charlise, Jorgia, Amelia, Oliver, Emmett, Henrieta, Beverly, Evelyn, Nelson, Kayla, Kelly, and Jason.
Albert was born on May 22, 1930 in Garsden, Lithuania to Martin and Anna (Schneider) Preikschas, the 14th of their 20 children.
Brother of Willi Preikschas of Baden, Berta Seltner of Waterloo, Greta Kent of Waterloo, Herta Olbort of Waterloo, and Erika Peterson of Kitchener.
Predeceased by brothers Emil, Gustav August, Herman, Benedikt, Gustav Jurgis, Ludwig, Jurgis Adolf, and August Jonas, and by his sisters Anna Lange, Minna Teige, Marie Preikschas, Ruta Esbagh, Emma Ilgauds, and Hans Preikschas.
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with prayers at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, Drayton, on Saturday, March 10th at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment in Palmerston Cemetery.
Memorial donations to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Palmerston, Parkinson Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
