Ronald Vincent “Ron” Ward
1948-2018
Ronald Vincent “Ron” Ward –
69, of Centreville Kings County, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at
home. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Elbert
“Illsley” and Helen Grace (Morton) Ward. He graduated from
Mack Business College, Kentville. Following employment at an
automotive dealership in New Minas, he drove a bread truck for Harris
Bakery in Wolfville. He then worked as a meat cutter and meat manager
for F. E. Wade IGA in New Minas and Digby. Ron, along with his wife,
Berneice, then owned and operated Ward’s General Store in
Centreville for many years. He was a former member of the Digby
Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of almost 50
years, Berneice (Huntley); a daughter, Kim Ward (Kaylee Curran),
Centreville; a son, Arron (Tammy) Ward, Kentville; four grandchildren,
Spencer Ward (Allison Abernethy), Guelph, ON; Tanner Ward, Kentville;
Keegan Ward, Centreville; Nora Laking, Centreville; a sister, Ruth
(George) Hudson, Hammonds Plains; two brothers, Wayne Ward (Kevin
McInnis), Pereau; Jeffrey Ward, Kentville; many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville,
where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at
2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be
made to the Digby Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your
choice. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
