Obituary for Andre Schroer
SCHROER; Christian Andreas “Andre”
Suddenly on February 25, 2018 at the home farm in Vandeleur at the age of 68. Dear son of Irene and the late Hendryk. Best friend to Marion Good of Wellesley. Loving father to Chris(Steve Ireson), Philip all of Toronto and Julian(Julia Liebish-Peschl) of Berlin. Cherished brother of Martina Schroer of Huntsville and Ansgar of Owen Sound. Outstanding uncle to Victoria(Adam) Wadel and their daughter Emerson. Greatly missed by former wife and lifelong friend Carole Robinson, as well as many animal friends, especially farm cat Ollie. Predeceased by brother Oliver Schroer.
Andre emigrated from Germany in 1954 and moved to Toronto with his parents and siblings. During his childhood he learned the cello and became quite accomplished, eventually joining the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra. While music gave Andre great joy, his true passion was in the financial industry, but more specifically with philanthropic and charitable type work. He loved to help people and his greatest pleasure was to see his projects succeed. Beyond his work and music, Andre loved nature and the farm in Vandeleur, helping his mother stay in her home in her later years. While his life was cut short, he was able to live every day while he was here to the fullest and had great pride in his son’s accomplishments.
Following Andre’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Anne’s Anglican Church, 270 Gladstone Ave, Toronto on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00pm. Memorial donations would be gratefully appreciated by the Bruce Trail Conservancy (brucetrail.org/) . Online condolences and donations available at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca 519-924-2810

André was an exceptional gentleman. Kind, generous, and giving. He had no time for pretentious behaviour, which was a quality that I rather liked! He gave far more of himself than he ever asked of others. He was an inspiring boss, a trusted colleague, and a loyal friend. I feel honoured to have known André for 34 years. He will be seriously missed.
Chris, Steven and families Our sincere condolences with your loss. May he rest in peace. Cherish your fondest memories.
Love Cheryl, Peter, Rachelle and Danielle Ireson
