Richard “Ricky” Allen Edgett
1955-2018
Richard “Ricky” Allen Edgett, 62, of Alma passed
away unexpectedly on February 26th, 2018 at his home.
Ricky was born in Moncton on October 28th, 1955 the son of
the late Ernest and Elsie (Burnett) Edgett.
He worked at Fundy National Park for over 38 years and was
the Head Gardener and Supervisor when he retired. Ricky
loved driving in the country and around Alma just checking on
everybody to see how things were going. He had a regular
route he travelled morning, noon and night to make sure everything was
okay in the community. He had a great sense of humour and
was known for his easy going personality ” That’s good
enough” was one of his favourite sayings. He also loved
being in nature and hunting. He was a real Albert County boy
who liked the simple things in life. He had a special place
in his heart for his family and especially his little
grandchildren. They were Grampy’s boys and he cherished the
times they spent face timing, getting to watch them grow even though
they were in Alberta. He had just talked with them on Sunday
night. May the good memories carry you through this time and
he would want everyone to share a funny story and have a laugh in his
memory. “Fond memories cling.”
He will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend,
Brenda Hambly of Alma; daughter, Amanda Edgett of St. John’s, NFLD;
son Adam Edgett (Suzette) of Red Deer, AB; step-son, Tanar Mitton
(Jeneen) of Kamloops, BC; his precious twin grandsons, Alexander
Richard Edgett and Nicholas Arthur Edgett; treasured
step-grandchildren, Alanna Marie Mitton and Connor James Mitton;
sisters, Bonnie Eastwick of Riverview, Joanne Beck (Carl) of Shepody,
Kathy Bishop (David) of Riverside-Albert; brothers, Peter Edgett
(Lana) of Alma, Melvin Edgett (Louise) of Hillsborough and John Edgett
of West River. He will also be missed by several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Diana
Lutes (Jim).
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with
visitation on Thursday evening from 6-9pm. The Funeral
Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday,
March 2nd, 2018 at 2:00pm with Rev. Carol Mullin
officiating. Following the service the family will be
meeting for further sharing of memories and for refreshments in the
funeral home reception area. Interment will be held in the
Alma United Cemetery, Alma, NB at a later date.
For those who wish donations to the Heart & Stroke
Foundation, NB Lung Association or to the Alma Volunteer Fire
Department would be greatly appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
