Rose Swidinsky
Rose Swidinsky, age 87 of Winnipeg, MB peacefully passed away at the Grace Hospital on Feb. 21, 2018.
Rose is survived by her son Greg (Teddi) & their son Connor; her daughter Debbie (Paul Thornton) and their sons, Christopher, Michael & David; sister Mary Elash of Goodeve, SK.
Rose was predeceased by her parents Theodore (Fred) Lutz and Mary (Krewda); her husband John; grandchild Jennifer; brothers John, Steve, Nick, Matt, Alex; sisters Katherine and Anne.
Rose was born Nov. 19, 1930 and grew up on a farm near Goodeve, SK. Shortly after completing her education, she decided to venture to Winnipeg where she met John. They were married on Oct. 1956.
In 1962 Rose and John relocated to Montreal but returned in 1970 to settle back in Winnipeg.
Rose loved to travel and visited many places in the world enjoying trips to Italy, Greece, Israel, Ukraine and was especially fond of Hawaii. Rose also enjoyed many camping trips with husband John throughout North America.
Rose was extremely proud of her 4 grandsons and their accomplishments in education and sports.
Anyone that has met Rose always seemed to comment on her radiant smile.
Prayers will be held at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt Avenue on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday February 26, 2018 also at St. Basil’s at 10:00 AM with reception and interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Rose’s memory.
