Theodore (Ted) Walter Grenda passed away peacefully at Kingsway Lodge on Friday, February 16, 2018.
Loving husband of Joan (McQueen) for 50 years. Father of Chris and his girlfriend Cindy, and Tyler and his wife Tracy. Grandfather of Mason. Ted is survived by his cousins Helen Kramzyk and Henry Kramzyk, his sisters in law Carol Fletcher and husband Jack, and Bev McQueen, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents John and Helen Grenda, his step mother Adele Grenda, his in laws Graham and Vera McQueen, and his brother in law Robert McQueen.
Ted was born in Toronto and spent his childhood in Brantford with his parents and extended family. Ted and Joan were married on July 15, 1967 and moved to St. Marys in 1973 where they raised their sons. Ted was an active member of the community as Chairman of the PARQ, Member and Chairman of the Arena Board, Chairman of the P.U.C. board, and a Life Member of the St. Marys Kinsmen Club. Ted enjoyed life and had many good times with family and friends. He had a great passion for gardening and the game of golf.
A private family service will take place with interment in St. Marys Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Ted’s life at the ST. MARYS GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB, 769 Queen St E, St. Marys, on Thursday, February 22, 2018 between 5-7:30pm where memories can be shared.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
