Patricia Joyce Lloyd
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Joyce Lloyd. This extremely beautiful, supportive, adventurous, caring, loving, and accepting woman will be missed by so many people. Mom held many roles throughout the course of her life. A beloved and only daughter to the late Elsie and Herbert Jameson. Patricia Joyce was a sister to Bob and Wayne Jameson, a devoted wife to Ken Lloyd, who put up with all his shenanigans. She was a committed mother to Jackie and David, She was a loving, and gentle Grandmother to Garreth, Oksana, Micah, Mitchell, and Jacob. As well as, a Mother in law to Deborah and Johnny; Auntie Pat to Shawna, Tom, Lori, Jeannie, Joy, and Great Aunt to Danielle, Matthew, Emily, Hannah, Emma, and Sydney.
Pat’s life in Melville, Sask changed forever at the age of 15 when she met Ken Lloyd (17), who was playing for the Melville Millionaires hockey team – they fell madly, passionately in love. Five months later, Ken returned to Ontario and Pat promptly quit school and begged her father to take her to Ontario to be with Ken. To everyone’s amazement, her father agreed! They lived with Ken’s parents until their marriage in 1962 and their adventures continued to the end – theirs was a true, enduring love story of 58 years.
Pat was an amazing and supportive friend to her Cat’s Away Girls Night, the Red Hatters Society, Midland Pursuits Women’s Group, avid member of a few Sailing Clubs, participant in many Golf Tournaments and Clubs, devoted Beta Sigma Phi Sister, new Sorority Sister to the Kamloops Chapter, loved by the Sun Peaks Polar Bears, player with the Sun Peaks Book and Scrabble Club, YMCA Workout team, and finally 2ndMother to the many orphans around the globe.
Our family is overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support we have received over the last six weeks. Mom’s family, friends, medical teams, and several local communities have walked this difficult journey with us. Words can never express our gratitude.
Please join us on Feb 18 Sunday at St. Paul’s United Church in Midland, 308 King Street at for visitation at 2pm and service of life at 3pm in the only way Patricia would do it – dressed in some PINK! In honour of Patricia and in lieu of flowers, please kindly donate to the cjdfoundation.org/donate so we may find a cure for this cruel disease. Thank you!
A BC Celebration will happen in Sun Peaks in March 2018.
