Mary Ann Gertrude Reid
1932-2018
Mary Ann Gertrude Reid – 85, of
Melanson, Kings County, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018 in
the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, she was a
daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy (Schofield) Eagles. Mary Ann
loved gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family.
Mary Ann loved owls and completing lexicons. She was a member of the
Wallbrook Baptist Church for more than sixty years, where she served
on multiple church organizations and volunteered for various community
events. She is survived by six sons, Martin Reid, Melanson; Billy
Reid, Forest Hill; Darrell (Joanne) Reid, Newtonville; Kevin Reid,
Melanson; Ronnie Reid (Kathy Strong), Newtonville; Larry Reid,
Melanson and their father, Cecil Reid, Wallbrook; twelve
grandchildren; Vanessa (Stuart) King, Michael Reid (Lynlee Davidson),
Cindy-Jo Reid (Johnathan Smith), Stacy-Ann Reid (Brock Salsman), Jenna
Reid (Scott Sloan) Jodie Reid, Jamie Reid (Catlin Bent), Connor Reid,
Taylor Reid, Justin Reid, Devin Reid (Bree Bezanson), Melissa Reid
(Josè Chora); nine great grandchildren, Olivia Smith,
Peyton Reid, Emma King, Max Smith, Callie Reid, Zachary King, Brantley
Bent, Brier Reid, Brady Smith and the much anticipated tenth
grandchild; one sister, Helen (Mike) Creighton, Fall River. She was
predeceased by three sisters, Shirley (Doug) Spidle, Ruby (Jim) Baker
and Eva (Dick) Goad. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday,
February 16, 2018 at the Gaspereau Baptist Church where the funeral
service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018,
Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A reception will follow in the
Gaspereau Community Hall. A private family burial will be held in the
Gaspereau Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Wallbrook
Baptist Church or the Annapolis Valley VON. The family would like to
thank the staff of the QEll Neurology 7.3 and Med B at the Valley
Regional Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Mary Ann.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
