Obituary of Glenna Wood
WOOD – Glenna Mae, age 75, of Summerville, Hants Co., formerly of Cheverie, passed away on February 9, 2018 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with her family by her side. Born in Summerville on May 2, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Pauline (Sanford) Harvey. Glenna was a hairdresser by trade and worked in Halifax for several years before moving to Cheverie with her family. She worked at Avon Valley Greenhouses before opening a second-hand clothing store at her home. Glenna was an avid gardener, spending many hours landscaping the yard in Cheverie and then Summerville. Her gardens were admired by many people. After she and Dale retired, they started singing together at jam sessions and benefits, which she enjoyed. She was also active in various volunteer community groups in the area. Glenna is survived by her husband, Dale; daughter, Tina Roy (Glynn), Selma; son, Shaun, Dartmouth; grandson, Mason; sisters, Flora Lake, Mass.; and Lorraine Benedict, Windsor. Glenna was predeceased by a son in infancy, and her brother Dexter Sanford. Cremation has taken place with no visitation or service at Glenna’s request. Private interment in Cheverie Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J.
