ARENS-ELSEN, Cecilia Maria
Surrounded by love, at her daughter’s home in Prescott, on Friday, February 2, 2018. Cecilia was born on February 23, 1927 in Belgium and in 1975 moved with her husband and two children to Canada, blessing her new friends and neighbours in Spencerville with her cheerful nature, sunny outlook and helpfulness. Home and family were the centre of her life. She hosted many family gatherings, grew bountiful gardens, and enjoyed exploring the countryside on short driving excursions. Cecilia was devoted to her loving husband of 52 years, Ferdinand Arens, who predeceased her in 2012, her children, Eloi (Margot Booth) and Helga Keller (Wayne Woods) and her grandchildren, Bradley and Allison Arens. Friends are invited to visit at Drummond Hall, Spencerville, on Monday, February 5 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, 48 Centre Street, Spencerville, on Tuesday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Father Brent Brennan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
