Brian Douglas MacDonald
1966-2018
It is
with broken hearts that the family of Brian Douglas MacDonald announce
his passing on January 31st at the Saint John
Regional Hospital after a short illness.
He was
the beloved son and best friend of his mom Helen and late dad Leslie
Macdonald. Brother to Danny (Jennifer) MacDonald and Lori
Scovil, who will miss him greatly.
Brian,
although not married, had 9 beloved nieces and nephews who over the
years he stepped in as a brother or father figure as needed. They are
Matthew (Bel) and Colin MacDonald of Airdrie, Alberta, Kyle MacDonald
of Windsor, Ontario, Colton Betts of Kingston; and Ashley, Dylan,
Tyson MacDonald of French Village, Rothesay. As well as Noah
and Sarah Durelle of French Village, Rothesay.
He will
also be missed by his Uncle Bob (Joyce) McIllwraith, Aunt Betty
(Eldon) Ferris and Uncle James (Shirley) MacDonald and many
cousins.
Brian
spent many hours working, helping and debating with his Uncle Eddie
(Mary) MacDonald. He could often be found, at the Kingston Farmers
Market or the Markets in Sussex, chatting and debating with anyone who
would listen, rather than working.
Brian
graduated from KV High followed by 3 years at UNBSJ, where he studied
Political Science. Brian during his elementary/ Junior High school
years he was known to his friends as
Turtle.
Although
he watched every sport on TV, from darts to hockey (and could tell you
anything about all sports) his favourite sports were hockey, the Maple
Leafs, baseball, the Blue Jays and basketball, the Raptors and
cars. He knew all the players and their
stats. He had an ongoing debate with Betty who was the best,
the Leafs or the Habs; and kept Ed and Danny up on the car racing and
auctions.
CNN was a
favorite and all of Trumps antics. He felt it was the best
“Reality Show” on TV.
Brian was a member of St.
Mark’s Catholic Church in Quispamsis. His wake will be at
the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, from 2pm
– 4 pm & 6pm to 8pm on Monday Feb
5th with a Mass of Christian Burial from St
Marks Catholic Church, on Tuesday, February 6th at
10 am. Interment will take place at St
Joseph Cemetery.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Brian Douglas MacDonald 19662018.source
