Beryl Irene Johnson
1943-2018
Johnson, Beryl Irene, 74, of Middle
Sackville, and formerly of Truro, passed
away suddenly, Thursday, January 25, 2018 in Truro. Born in Economy,
she was a daughter of the late Frederick St. Clair and Josephine
(Canning) Aylward. Beryl worked at Margolians Truro in the shoe
department for 21 years. She loved to watch all wild animals,
especially the many species of birds. She enjoyed making crafts and
reading. She attended the Pentecostal Church Truro where she sang in
the Women’s Choir. She also attended the Abundant Life Victory Church
Truro where she served as Deacon and Sunday school teacher. She was
the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her
children, Laura (Burnie) Curran, BC, Steven Smith, Truro, Michelle
Smith (Joe MacKinnon), Charlottetown, Sheryl (Darren) Brooks,
Dartmouth, John (Maureen) Johnson, Truro, Roy Johnson, ON, Sharron
Smith, Truro; grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Dustin, Emily, Zach,
Sarah, Sean, Christopher; great grandson, Harlen MacDonald;
brothers-in-law, Albert (Bonnie) Johnson, Middleton, Robert (Joanne)
Johnson, Truro; several nieces and nephews; special nieces, Ginger
(Mike) Bogus, Bedford, Shelley (George) Smith, Saltsprings; dear
friends, Becky (Lacey) White, Melissa (Kevin), Chrissy and Lucas,
Sharon Riley, Elspie Charter, Eddie Castle; her fur babies, Hannah,
Brutus, Sam. She was predeceased by her husband, George Ernest
Johnson; sisters, Mable (John) Feltmate, Elva (Morley) Dunphy, Marie
Aylward, Ethel Yorke, Hazel Manning; brother, Frederick, in infancy;
nephew, Claude Soley. Arrangements have been entrusted to the
Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, from where
visitation will be held 12 pm to 1:45 pm Wednesday, January 31,
followed by funeral service at 2 pm. Reception to follow in the
funeral home. Interment at a later date in the Camden Cemetery,
Camden. If desired memorial gifts in Beryl’s memory may be made to the
Truro SPCA or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
