1943-2018
Douglas “Doug”
Legere, 75 years of age, of River Hebert, passed away
peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre. Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late
James & Lail (O’Brien) Legere.
Doug was a jack of all trades. He was a
mechanic, a truck driver, lobster fisherman. He was always willing to
help a friend in need. He loved music, playing guitar, fiddle. Doug
loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Doug will be sadly missed by his wife of
55 years, Doreen, daughter Susan Legere of Amherst, son Jerry Legere
(Phyllis Dempsey) of River Hebert, Cindy Legere ( Steve Hargraves) of
Amherst, Myrna Legere (Kevin Wood) of River Hebert; seven
grandchildren, several great grandchildren; sister, Myrna Smith of
Toronto, ON, brother, Jimmy (Judith) of Lindsay, ON.
Arrangements are under the direction and
care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70
Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A celebration of Doug’s life
will be held at the River Hebert Legion Branch #14 on Sunday, January
28, 2018 from 1-4 p.m.
Should friends desire, memorial
contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the
charity of your choice. Sharing of memories and condolences may be
