Janet Leslie Marie Dunham – 82, of
Steam Mill, Kings County, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at home.
Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Gertrude
(Veinot) Langille. She was best known for her baking, most recently
for S&J Diner, Kentville. She also baked for the Sandwich Tree
and Expressway Café and worked as a labourer on tobacco
farms. She enjoyed going to Frenchy’s, where she could
always find a deal. The matriarch of our family, she is survived by
eight children, Michael (Debra), Dartmouth; Susan, Steam Mill; Bruce
(Susan), Aldershot; Pam (Frank), Keddy’s Corner; Kim (John),
Keddy’s Corner; Jeff (Linda), Aldershot; Craig (Melanie),
West Brooklyn; Stephanie, Aldershot; a brother, Beverly (Carrie)
Langille, Toronto; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great
great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; a
granddaughter, Cheryl Melanson. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m.
Monday, January 8, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville,
where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January
9, 2018, Reverend Brian Keezer officiating. Burial will take place in
the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. In lieu of flowers, donations in
memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia
or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been
entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
