Obituary of Merritt Williams
After a life well lived, John ‘Merritt’ Williams passed away January 3rd, 2018 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital at the age of 79. Predeceased by his wife Carol (2006). Merritt was a kind, gentle, considerate soul who always placed others before him. He loved the community of Watford. He was actively involved in many organizations and took pride in his membership. Along with his busy, social lifestyle he was a devoted father to 5 daughters who he adored Kim Dodge (Kev), Lyn Faulds (Rick), Jill Campbell (Scott), Ann Ells (Gavin), Jane Taverner (Ian). Cherished grandfather to Samantha (Vince), Ryan (Britt), Tyler (Kailey), Blake (Sophie), Alida (Erien), Kelcy, Karly, Harrison, Dayna, Kara, Garrett, Timothy and Emma. Treasured Great Grandfather to Gemma, Elliot, William, Charlotte and Benjamin. Merritt had plenty of love to share and in return was loved by so many family members, extended family members, and dear friends. He will be sadly missed by Patricia and family. Predeceased by his parents Oliver and Jean and siblings Constance, Marilyn and Jerry.
Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF WATFORD (232 Warwick St.) on Monday, January 8th, 2017 from 2 – 8 pm. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 1 pm at Trinity Anglican Church, 5331 Nauvoo Rd., Watford.
Private family interment at St. James Cemetery, Brooke-Alvinston.
