Tompkins, Reverend Deacon William David
65 years old, peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 29, 2016. Devoted husband of 41 years of Beth (nee Peltier). Beloved father of Brian (Becky) and Benjamin. Proud Pepe of Alex, Sophie and Julianna. Son of Rose and the late William C. Tompkins; brother of Dianne Kemski (Bob Vandervennet) and Joe (Christine). Son-in-law of the late Martha and Joe Peltier; brother-in-law of Donna Peltier, the late Ken (Laura Hazelwood), Mary (Eddie) Sandre, Elaine (Dave) Martin and Mark (Betty) Peltier. Many nieces, nephews and their families. Bill worked in the automotive industry while studying for the Deaconate, serving at St. Luke-in-the-Fields (Windsor) and St. Andrew’s (LaSalle) Anglican Churches. At 52, he returned to school earning his degree in Accounting from St. Clair College and the Governor General’s Award.Visitation will be held at Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home, 1525 Highway 3, Oldcastle, Ontario N0R 1L0 on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 12PM until time of service at 3 PM. Cremation to follow. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Lung Cancer Society would be appreciated.
