Gibbs, William «Bill»
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Brantford General Hospital on Sunday, January 29th, 2017 at 89 years old. Beloved husband of Janet Gibbs for 66 years. Survived by his children Sandy Gibson (Bill), Janice Churchill (Glen), Susan Bernaski (Terry), Bill Gibbs (Shelley) and Barbara Amyotte (Neil). Cherished grampy to 14 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren, loving brother to Stanley Gibbs, predeceased by his sisters Muriel Wilson and Jean Cooper. Bill was a former pitcher for the Brantford Red Sox and for 42 years was an employee with Forbes Bros. He was a longtime member of the Brantford Airforce Club and an active participant in the Smokey Hollow Community where he and Janet have lived for the past 23 years. Bill will be remembered as a man of many talents and fixer of all things. Family was his top priority. At Bill’s request, cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital for their excellent care. In memory of Bill, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Brantford General Hospital. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the HILL & ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 30 Nelson St. Brantford 519-752-2543.
