Mr. Wilbert «Wibe» Bartley

It is with sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful
husband, dad and poppa, Wilbert “Wibe” Bartley. Wibe passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017, in his 91st year at his home with all of his loved ones by his side. Beloved husband of Catherine Bartley (nee McLeod) for 62½ wonderful years. Loving dad of Anne Cochrane (Steve Turner), Wanda Doubt (Mike Meier), Cathy Bartley (Kevin Sherman), all of Owen Sound and predeceased by his son, Wilbert Jr. (2010). Special dad of Keith Harrington (Lynda) of Paris, Ontario. Amazing poppa of Wilbert, Cathy, Lisa, Aaron, Ryan, Crystal and Jesse and great-poppa of Brooke, Presley, Charlee and Luke. Sadly missed by his brother, Sheldon Bartley (Faye), of Shallow Lake; his sisters, Joyce Phillip, of Edmonton and Irene Wagner, of Wiarton; his brothers-in-law, Doug McLeod (Marilyn), of Shallow Lake and Howard McLeod, of Hamilton; Wibe will be sadly missed by his many, many nieces and nephews and his very dear friend, Arlene Sherwood, of Michigan. Predeceased by his parents, Burt and Ruby Bartley. We wish to thank the CCAC; Melissa Olmstead, owner/operator of the Caring Soul and her staff and our special Angels – they know who they are. Special thanks to Dr. Megan Griggs, of Wiarton for ensuring that Dad’s wishes were fulfilled and simply for just being there for our family and also nurses Glenna and Leslie and all of the PSW’s that helped make his final days a little easier.
Cremation has already taken place and as per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A Graveside Service will be held at Zion Cemetery in the spring.
