Obituary

Peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Carleton Lodge, Nepean, Ontario, in his 86th year. Beloved husband to the late Dorothy (nee Ritter) Russell. Cherished father of Donna, Janet (Paul), Colin (Kim) and Ken. Loving grandfather of Alex, Stuart, Kyle, Kate, Cameron, Carolyn, Andrew and Nigel. Devoted son of the late Helen and Lloyd Russell. Dear brother-in-law to Bill and the late Barbara and the late Herbert and Vera. Uncle Wes will be lovingly remembered by his 2 nieces and 6 nephews.
After a career with Petrofina and later Petro-Canada, Wes retired to a peaceful life with his cherished wife, Dorothy. After some time in Florida and travel in Canada, Wes enjoyed his comfortable home and his growing family.
Wes will be fondly remembered by those who knew him for his love of family and practical outlook on life. Among his interests were music, fitness and social time at the Carlingwood gym, the stock market and keeping up with current events.
The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Russell, the Carleton Lodge staff and the exceptional team of volunteers for their kind and compassionate care. Wes always had a wry smile and humoured comment for all the caring people in the Nepean Wing.
A private memorial service will be held by immediate family. In lieu of flowers, may be made in the memory of Wesley Russell to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to the charity of your choice.
