Wanda MacRae
1964-2017
It is with great sorrow that the family of Wanda Lee MacRae
announce her passing on April 22, 2017, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital in Fredericton. She was born on August 8, 1964 in Bathurst,
NB to Fred and Rita (Losier) Stever.
In addition to her parents, Wanda will be greatly missed by
her husband Kim MacRae and daughter Melinda; sisters Maureen of
Bathurst, Sharon of Toronto; brothers Brian of BC, Daryl of Toronto
and Kevin of Montreal; mother-in-law Lavolia as well as many extended
family members.
Wanda had a big smile, and an even bigger laugh, all wrapped
up in a short energized package. She was the life of the party, always
happy, always ready for fun, always ready to help. People definitely
knew when Kim and Wanda had arrived. Everyone that knew her had a
«Wanda story» that could just «curl your
hair».
Wanda loved her daily walks. All of her neighbours on McKeen
Street got used to seeing her out and about, but Emily and Karson knew
she always had treats when she came their way. Her Saturdays often
included the Boyce Market where she picked up her samosas and coffees.
Always more than one for the week of course.
She enjoyed working with Chartwells for 25 years at 3
different schools, but the real joy was her interaction with all of
the students. With each school she worked at she called it «her
school». She loved what she did. As her co-workers will attest,
Wanda made work fun – whether it was serving students day to day,
dressing up for special occasions or handling large events, Wanda
added the humour. Wanda made sure that her life was full of
life.
Visitation will take place at McAdams Funeral Home on
Wednesday, April 26, 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm . Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church
on Thursday, April 27 at 6pm.
