1932-2016
Vaughan William
Hicks, 84, of Sackville, passed away at the Drew
Nursing Home on Thursday, December 8, 2016, after a brief period of
illness. Born in Midgic, Vaughan was a son of the late Avard and
Bertha Hicks.
For 46 years, he was employed as a
fabricator with Enterprise Foundry. He had been a member of the Main
Street Baptist Church and the Sackville Senior Citizens
Club. Vaughan enjoyed long drives and camping. He
was a proud family man who enjoyed spending time with his children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Vaughan will be sadly missed by his wife
of sixty-three years, Norma (nee Wry), Sackville; three sons Dana
(Terry), Midgic, Andrew (Starr), Sackville and Matthew (Deirdre),
Amherst; one daughter, Pam Hicks, Sackville; grandchildren, Adam
(Gloria), Shalyn (Blaine), Alex, Sarah (Timothy), Lacey (Kyle), Tessa
(Josh), Devin, Taylor, Nolan, Jade, and Amber; great granddaughters,
Willow and Clara; a sister, Betty (Clarence) Wheaton,
Midgic, of Sackville; a son-in-law, Paul Breau; sisters-in-law, Jackie
Hicks, Carolyn Hicks, Rachel Tower and Gloria Mitton as well as
several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Vaughan was
predeceased by a daughter, Andrea; a brother Carvel and two sisters,
Phyllis and Charlotte.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where family and friends are
invited to a time of visitation on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from
2-4 & 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at
the funeral home on Sunday at 2 pm. Interment will be held
in the Westcock Cemetery in the Spring.
Donations in memory of Vaughan may be
made to the Midgic Baptist Church or the Main Street Baptist
Church.
